McCready, 28, has been charged with one count of prescription drug fraud, a class D felony. Agents with the 21stJudicial District Drug Task Force said McCready presented a fraudulent prescription for OxyContin, a potentpainkiller often used as a heroin substitute, to a pharmacy in Brentwood.
Bailey Greenewalt, assistant director of the task force, said McCready submitted the prescription on Feb. 11and walked out of the pharmacy with 90 OxyContin pills. Greenewalt would not identify the pharmacy. Investigators determined that the doctor's office from which the prescription was said to have originated did not have a patient file under the name on the prescription.
Greenewalt said McCready's arrest may lead to others being charged, but would not give more detail. A Williamson County grand jury issued a sealed indictment of McCready on May 28. She was taken to the Williamson County Jail at 3:15 p.m.yesterday. She was released at 4:50 p.m. on $10,000 bail. She is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing onAug. 23 at Williamson County Circuit Court, in Courtroom C on the second floor.
